Explore with SouthFork

Not every adventure needs to be high-octane. At Southfork Lodge, exploration can be as simple as stepping outside your cabin and seeing where the day takes you. The Boise National Forest offers a peaceful invitation to wander — with year-round hot springs hidden among the trees (a winter favorite), scenic hiking trails, and quiet moments along the canyon watching rafters navigate the legendary Payette River.

Soak in the Springs

Our Adventure Services include everything from off-road exploration and side-by-side rentals to river floats, fly fishing, and backcountry camping. Whether you want to hike to a high alpine lake, ride to a remote summit, or spend the day on horseback with one of our local guides, we’ll help you craft an unforgettable day in the wild.

Forage & Discover

Each season brings something special — mushrooms in early spring, huckleberries in late summer and fall. Whether you're picking trailside or simply taking it all in, the forest invites curious minds and wandering hearts to explore its edible treasures.

Wander the Wild

Lace up your boots and hike miles of scenic trails that wind through forest, along the river, and up into the hills. We’ll pack your box lunch or send you off with a hot coffee to-go. You set the pace — and we can even arrange drop-off or pick-up so your hike feels boundless.

Watch the River Work

Stroll to the canyon overlook and watch rafters charge through the rapids of the world-famous Payette River. It’s the kind of quiet thrill that captures the spirit of Idaho — wild, unpredictable, and full of stories waiting to be shared back at the lodge.

Looking for something a little more ambitious?

Our Adventure Services include everything from off-road exploration and side-by-side rentals to river floats, fly fishing, and backcountry camping. Whether you want to hike to a high alpine lake, ride to a remote summit, or spend the day on horseback with one of our local guides, we’ll help you craft an unforgettable day in the wild.
